SRAM Press Release: New FORCE Road Group 2023 !
Under embargo until March 1st, the new SRAM FORCE 2023 had a significant update reserved for you for the FORCE 2023 group (road and gravel). Just received, the press release invited us to share with you the ROAD novelty and to compare it to its 2021 version. SRAM has revamped its group, but not only that, and it clearly elevates the FORCE to a higher level. Judge for yourself !

THE ACTOR’S EYE : Our review
A little weight loss for the shifters of the SRAM FORCE 2023, down 6g compared to the 2021 model, but as with the crankset chainrings, the ergonomics and design have been completely overhauled. The lever is slimmer and the gear connector resembles the RED and even Shimano levers. In any case, the look is decidedly more modern. As for the hoods, they clearly no longer come from the same mold. The finish has been completely revised, elevating the FORCE 2023 to a higher level.
CLIPPERS !
- Included with the levers, SRAM doesn’t provide details on the calipers for the 2023 version
- SRAM didn’t provide details in 2021 either (on the old version). However, they remain the same, and only the iridescence changes the game (along with the logo).
- The LOOK effect is definitely there. One might wonder if an iridescent paint and superior-quality design are enough to propel a group towards the high end. Of course, it’s a question of strategy and product positioning, but SRAM has indeed revised the ergonomics of its group for 2023.
